THE REVENUE AI BRIEF · ONE PLAY A DAY

Welcome to The Revenue AI Brief. One play a day on AI applied to revenue, in about three hundred words. Two minutes to read, one thing to run today.

TODAY'S PLAY

run a founder led growth audit on your own year and see if it is compounding or just busy

A founder posts a clean ten-year timeline and it reads like a highlight reel. The trap is that you cannot tell from the inside whether your current year is depositing into that curve or just filling the calendar. So most founders quit the flat stretch one year before it would have paid out.

We treat founder led growth as a mechanic instead of a mood. Every quarter I check whether this year is adding range that a future version of the company can use, or just adding motion. The timeline only looks clean in hindsight because the inputs finally stacked, so the job is making sure each year is a deposit.

RUN IT THIS WEEK

  1. Write down what this year is teaching you that a future version of your company could actually use. If the honest answer is nothing, that is your signal, and it has nothing to do with how busy you feel.

  2. Find the one place where everything routes through you and would stop dead if you took two weeks off. That is your ceiling forming. Hand it to someone before it becomes the thing capping growth.

  3. Name the flat stretch you are in right now and decide, on paper and in a calm moment, what evidence would tell you the idea is actually dead. Deciding that in advance is your only defense against quitting one year too early.

WHY IT WORKS

Compounding is unfair early and unfair late in opposite directions. For years the effort and the reward look disconnected, which is exactly where most founders walk away. If you can tell a real flat stretch from a dead idea, you stay long enough to let the inputs stack, and that patience is the whole edge.

See you tomorrow with the next play.
